Needing to dodge vicious beasts and oncoming trains, search
for food scraps, and run from the dogcatcher, Scamp initially
loves his freedom, especially when he falls for Angel (and
enjoys a pasta meal with her, just like his parents did in the
original movie). Soon, Scamp learns that there are complications
– Buster, the king of the junkyard dogs has a history with
Scamp’s parents, Angel can’t believe that Scamp would
abandon a happy family scene for the streets, and the little guy
eventually realizes that his chosen lifestyle isn’t all that
he dreamt it would be. more

Although fairly thin at only about 70 minutes, "Lady
and the Tramp 2" proves to be one of the best of the recent
direct-to-video releases, with very good animation and some
top-notch actors to provide the voices. There's even a few
little plot twists and playful references to the original.
Although I'm certainly not in the target audience for the film,
I found it light, enjoyable fun. A good movie for the whole
family to watch. more

Goldrush
(1998)
Starring: Alyssa
Milano, Bruce Campbell
Director: John Power
Synopsis: Young 1890s urbanite
shocks her friends and family by heading off to join Alaskan gold

More focused on drama than action. Ages 6-up.
Runtime: 89 minutes
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Genre: Kids |

Reviews:
- 35 of 100 by Diane Selkirk
Based on a true story, Goldrush had the potential to give
young viewers not only a positive female role model but an
enjoyable movie as well. Instead we get a simpering, cloying
effort that plays on every known stereotype of a woman in a
man’s world. It’s is an unsatisfactory and insulting film. more

Unlikely thriller has Alyssa Milano + boyfriend fighting off

Hugo Pool is essentially a day in the life of Hugo
(Alyssa Milano), a Southern California pool cleaner. As she goes
from house-to-house, we meet members of her strange gallery of
clients: Franz Mazur (Robert Downey Jr.), a deranged film
director who murdered one of his extras; Chic Chicalini (Richard
Lewis), a gangster with a killer stare; and Floyd Galen (Patrick
Dempsey), a victim of ALS who ends up joining Hugo on her
rounds. Also lending a hand are Hugo's burnt-out father, Henry
(Malcolm McDowell), and her gambling-obsessed mother, Minerva
(Cathy Moriarty). more

Fear
(1996)
Starring: Mark
Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon
Director: James Foley
Synopsis: Naive high school girl
falls for bad seed. This pulpy, suspenseful, melodramatic thriller,
with its taut direction and effective performances, satisfies not
just for B-movie fare, but also mystery/thriller fans.
Runtime: 97 minutes
MPAA Rating: R
Genres: Drama, Mystery, Suspense |

|
Reviews:
- 2 of 4 by James Berardinelli
Why is Fear better? Several considerations spring to
mind. First, an attempt is made to develop all of the
significant characters, and there are occasions when they step
outside the cliched molds that so often confine men and women in
thrillers. Secondly, unlike in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle,
where the villain was actually the most interesting character,
here, the protagonists grab our attention and sympathy far
better than the bad guy. Finally, director James Foley (Glengarry
Glenn Ross) sets up the scenario well, although, inevitably,
things devolve into death and mayhem. more

This time around, "Boyfriend" fills the blank.
William Petersen is an overworked architect who has his hands
full trying to cope with his rebellious 16-year-old daughter,
Reese Witherspoon. And that's before she starts hanging around
with a creepy boyfriend, Mark Wahlberg aka Marky Mark. more

comedy about loutish seniors delaying graduation to extend

Set in the lovely seaside college town of Santa Cruz, we
have a group of college seniors (Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Vinnie
DeRamus, Vien Hong, and French Stewart) who live together in a
rented house. Actually Slosh (Vien Hong) has long since given up
on college, but the others are preparing to leave town after
graduation until they decide that they can not give up their
male camaraderie. They take an unconvincing vow to stay together
for another year. Jack (Affleck) says, "Let's rage at the
dying of the light a little bit." Continuing in this stream
of insightful thinking, he later tells us that, "People say
nothing is forever. I say how do you explain herpes or The
Grateful Dead?" more
- 3.5 of 4 by Justin Siegel
You have Jack (Ben Affleck), your main character, who
ironically describes himself as "happy-go-fucking-lucky as
the day I was born" and carries a torch for ex-girlfriend
Dina, now dating a white dude who likes to think he's a
Rastafarian. Then there's Micky (Vinnie DeRamus), the black
comic-strip artist who's "big, clumsy, and never combs his
hair." Millions of girls find him sexy, but he's too laid
back to give much of a fuck. Even the gorgeous, flirtatious,
virginal Chelsea (Alyssa Milano) can't get him off his ass. more
