08/20/2007 -
entertainmentwise
A source tells the New York Daily News newspaper: 'Christina couldn't contain her excitement. She said she couldn't wait for the baby to be born.' Despite the growing pregnancy bump, Christina has so far refused to confirm publicly that she is expecting a child with husband Jordan Bratman. When asked recently if she was pregnant, the singer would only reply: 'It's definitely something we can't wait to begin.' Chistina’s father, Fausto Aguilera, wasn’t as reluctant as his daugher to talk about the pregnancy, however. A proud Fausto said last month: 'I'm so excited. I want Christina to achieve all her goals. I wish her all the happiness in the world.'

The pop singer was caught in a precarious situation during a costume change on tour and had to pass water in front of her entire backstage crew. However, Christina, who is convinced there is video footage of her in the act, insists she didn't mind everybody seeing her in the nude because she is proud of her sexy body. She told Blender magazine, 'I'm very comfortable with my naked body. There's probably even some video of me peeing.' The 'Beautiful' singer has also revealed she and her husband, Jordan Bratman, want to buy a new home in New York. The couple are currently looking at properties in the city and, as soon as they find one that is suitable, they intend to make it their permanent home.

The outing, the full itinerary for which was unveiled Thursday (10/12), kicks off Feb. 20 in Houston, and is set to run through early May. Tickets for several shows will go on sale Saturday (10/14), according to promoter AEG Live; details are in the itinerary below. VIP packages for the tour will be sold via iloveallaccess.com. Among the available perks are 'premium seat locations within the first 10 rows and exclusive 'inside' the stage access as well as exclusive pre-show parties, backstage tours, exclusive gifts and much more,' according to a press release. The tour's production team includes choreographer/director Jamie King (Madonna, Janet Jackson) and costume designer Roberto Cavalli. Also planned is 'a unique stage design that will allow Christina's fans unprecedented access to the stage with unbelievable sight lines,' according to the tour announcement. 'The tour will feature three distinct stage scenes, illuminated by more than 600 moving lights, and a state-of-the-art hydraulic system.' Aguilera is currently gearing up for a month-long European trek, which kicks off Nov. 17 in Sheffield, UK. Her full European itinerary is available at her website. The singer is backing her third solo album, 'Back to Basics,' which hit stores in August and entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. Her label is hyping the set as a 'modern take on vintage jazz, soul and blues from the 1920s, '30s and '40s.' The disc was produced by Linda Perry, who also turned the knobs on Aguilera's 2002 release, 'Stripped.'

Genie in a Bottle singer Aguilera called her favourite Los Angeles baby boutique, Petit Tresor, to request a $500 (€390) gift basket, crammed with goodies for her one-time pop rival. Among the top-line items Aguilera selected for her former Mickey Mouse Club pal's new baby Sutton Pierce were a set of porcelain crockery, a cuddly elephant, a hooded towel, slippers and a nightlight. The basket was delivered to the Malibu, California home Spears shares with husband Kevin Federline and her two baby boys, Sutton Pierce and one-year-old Sean Preston, late yesterday. The special delivery came with a card that read: 'Congratulations on the new addition to your family,' and was signed: 'Love Christina and Jordan' (Aguilera's new husband Jordan Bratman). Spears gave birth to baby Sutton Pierce in a Los Angeles hospital last week.

The 'Ain't No Other Man' singer insists she and her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, are planning to start a family but at present they have their hands full with their pooches. She said: 'One day we want to have the kids and start a family but I'm very focused on my career right now. Besides, we have three dogs so we already have a mini family to take care of.' Christina recently admitted she is sick of people asking her when she is going to have a baby. The 25-year-old, who tied the knot last November, said: 'Everyone's asking when I'm going to have children. I just tell them my new album, 'Back To Basics', is my child. I'm having twins! It's so exciting.'

Aguilera Says Reality TV Is Not For Her

The 'Dirrty' singer, who has recently revamped her image, says that television producers are often left confused as to why she is not interested in following the footsteps of other celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears to reveal their private lives to the public. According to IOL, she tells MTV News: 'We've been approached, actually, and it has been a question for some people, but my marriage and my relationship with my husband is something that I really want to protect.' She adds: 'My heart goes out to that whole situation. It's a whole different ballgame, I feel, when you do open yourself up to that whole thing, and it must be difficult. 'You're open to all the judgment in the world. At least now I can say: `Well, you don't know my situation and it's very private and special and sacred to me.''

Aguilera 'Back' with new album

'Just to get into the song,' she says, 'to convey that emotion and high energy, especially to belt out some notes, the red lipstick helped me get to that mind frame.' Saluting artists from the past was a role Aguilera was born to play. Since her RCA debut seven years ago, the 25-year-old has talked about her love for such torch and blues singers as Etta James. As she prepared for the album, due for release Aug. 15, 'I would surround myself with old imagery of your Billie Holidays and your Pearl Baileys and people like that,' she says. With the new two-CD, 22-song set, executive-produced and co-written by Aguilera, her aim is no less ambitious than to pay homage to her musical heroes while inventing something completely new. The first disc, primarily produced by DJ Premier, combines old-song sensibilities with hip-hop elements, samples and modern technology. Disc two, produced by Linda Perry, features all live instrumentation with no samples: Old-timey sounds were captured using vintage microphones sometimes covered with cloth to get a muffled effect. Aguilera plans to kick-start the album by playing a limited number of intimate U.S. jazz clubs, followed by a European tour that will include private showcases in London and Paris. A full-scale U.S. tour will start next year.

Christina Aguilera won’t give up career to have children

She said recently: “We’d absolutely like to have kids one day. We’re both family people. Jordan’s from a Jewish family, so taking care of each other is a big deal. I like that. But for now we’re just enjoying ourselves.” “And music’s so important in my life. I think even with kids I’d write and record songs. Touring may be a bigger problem, though - we’ll just have to wait and see.” “I’m sure I’d be able to combine family life with my career”.

Aguilera's Back To Basics Now Double The Fun

'The first half is based upon working with more beat-driven producers and will use samples and things like that, and then the second disc is all me and [collaborator] Linda Perry,' Aguilera said. The majority of the first disc was produced by DJ Premier, and Aguilera describes the material as 'kind of a throwback with elements of Jazz, Blues and Soul music combined with a modern-day twist, like hard-hitting beats.' As for disc two, Aguilera says that her and Perry 'creatively went into our own zone and our own world together. There are no cover songs, so we made more of a '20s, '30s vibe with an authentic and organic twist. There are no samples — it's all live music. One of the songs sounds like you entered a 1920s burlesque club, another song sounds like it was actually recorded in the 1920s, using a vintage microphone, so it's exciting stuff.' 'It was quite a journey making this record [and turning to] the old glam look visually to go along with all that,' she said to MTV.com. 'But what we came up with, I'm super-proud of.' Back To Basics will land in stores on August 15.
