'I was terrified going in, knowing that they were all so close and have been together for six years,' admits Elizabeth, who makes her ''70s' debut Wednesday with her recurring role as the love interest of Ashton Kutcher's Kelso. 'I was especially scared of the girls (Mila Kunis and Laura Prepon) because there are only two, and I'm like this intruder girl coming in. But it's been amazing how nice everyone is and how accepting. I'm a really shy person, so I tried hard to be outgoing and talk to everyone, and I gave them all cast gifts the first taping night.' Gifts and nerves aside, Elizabeth is enjoying her eight-episode run. But when she's not donning vintage gear or gracing the big screen, she has plenty of extracurricular activities on her plate. 'I love acting and doing all this, but it's really about coming home to my husband (Joseph Reitman) and my animals -- they're my kids,' says Elizabeth, who heads up Animal Avengers, a charity for orphaned animals that is gearing up for Luck of the Paw, a celebrity casino night Dec. 5 at the Victorian in Santa Monica. But first, she has to finish the delay-ridden werewolf pic 'Cursed' for Dimension and Wes Craven. 'I am going back to work a couple days (this) week and a few days the following week. The newest version of the script is really good, and I'll get to do some different things with my character. I'm excited to go back.'

Latest Video Game Trend Taps Hollywood Talent
05/28/2003 - yahoo
One new trend is resurrecting deceased icons like Bruce Lee, Steve McQueen and Japanese sensation Yusaku Matsuda -- best known in the United States for Ridley Scott's 1989 thriller 'Black Rain.' McQueen will hit the gaming world in July with Gotham Games' 'The Great Escape,' and Capcom cast the late Matsuda in 'Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny' last year. Universal Interactive's attempt to bring Bruce Lee to interactive life was a huge flop -- because of poor game play -- but his name is big enough to survive another attempt. With the recent slate of Western-themed games in development, can a virtual John Wayne be far behind? Going in the other direction, game companies are beginning to cast actors to play virtual parts in games just as they would for a movie. Shannon Elizabeth has joined Pierce Brosnan in providing likeness and voice work as new Bond girl Serena St. Germaine in Electronic Arts' November release 'James Bond: Everything or Nothing,' which was penned by Bond movie scribe Bruce Feirstein. Capcom has hired Jean Reno to play French soldier Jacques Blanc in 'Onimusha 3.' Reno will 'star' opposite Japanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro, who plays a Samurai. This final chapter in the trilogy, which is in development as a movie franchise with Davis Films and Ga Ga Prods. has an apocalyptic story that interweaves events from feudal Japan circa 1582 with Paris circa 2004. Hong Kong action star and director Donnie Yen ('Shanghai Knights,' 'Blade 2') directed the game's computer-generated cinematics. All of this will help Capcom game producer Keiji Inafune bring 'a larger movie aspect to the game,' he says. At the other extreme, Sony's new 'Rise to Honor' exclusive game franchise was built around Jet Li at the international film star's instigation. In addition to providing voice work and motion-capture action for the game, Li worked on the game's story. The game features more than 3,000 moves that Li's friend, Hollywood fight choreographer Cory Yuen ('The One,' 'Kiss of the Dragon'), captured with the star in Sony's studio. In the game, Li plays bodyguard Kit Yun, who leaves Hong Kong for San Francisco in search of the kidnapped daughter of the man he was paid to protect. 'This game gives the player full freedom to perform the types of outlandish stunts that Jet Li does routinely in his movies,' says Jim Wallace, the producer of the game at Sony Computer Entertainment America. 'With the help of Jet Li, now anyone can experience the thrills of a Hong Kong action movie firsthand.' As games get bigger budgets and top tier writers are brought into the business, look for even more cross-fertilization to occur between those in Hollywood who understand the games industry and the leading interactive entertainment companies.
